Transardinia is one of these: two journeys across Sardinia, from North to South, through the highest and most inaccessible mountains of the island.

Transardinia departures are organized by IchnusaBike, a local operator specializzed in bike journeys, one day trips, bike rental and hiking tours.
Until 2008 there was only Transardinia Classic (simply called Transardinia), a version of the journey along the oriental side of the island, starting in Olbia and ending in Cagliari, two cities that can easily be reached from the other towns of Sadinia, of Italy and from overseas as the biggest ports and airports are located there.
Since 2009 there's also Transardinia West, a version along the western side of the island, starting from Alghero and ending in Cagliari. The city of Alghero, too, is well served by an important airport.
