Classic. Tra montagne e altipiani solitari

The Transardinia Classic route evolves along the wildest and most beautiful mountains of the island, riding through lonely planes, down deep and narrow canyons and climbing the highest peaks of Sardinia, like Mount Gennargentu.
The total climb is over 10.000 metres.

The itinerary was studied and defined by Giorgio Pupillo from Cagliari, through years of exploring. He was inspired by the GR 20 of Corsica, a 270 km route that leads from the northern to the southern point of the island throught its highest and most fascinating mountains. For a few years Transardinia was an informal event, a trip among a small group of fans.
In October 2005 the event evolved, thanks to the commitment of Amos Cardia and Ichnusabike, who instituzionalized the route equating it to many other similar routes around the world. The newspaper Nuova Sardegna promoted the event and now every year Transardinia riunites many bikers who want to discover Sardinia and put themselves to the test.

The journey is divided in daily laps of about 65 kms and 1.500 m of total climb, sleeping in B&Bs, small hotels and farm houses in the mountains or in small hinterland villages. Transardinia is also an occasion to taste the typical sardinian cuisine, which is rich and nourishing, suitable for athletes. Ichnusabike recommend a good athletic and technical training, team spirit and abiltity to adapt to situations. Subscrive now!
